Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of House Supervisor at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility and ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure that all patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
  • Enforce and interpret policies for the delivery of patient and resident care, ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
  • Ensure proper staffing for each unit, maintaining an appropriate staff-to-patient ratio and covering call-offs and vacation time.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure that chart checks, seclusion/restraint logs, nursing assessments, MARs, and report sheets are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in orienting and training new staff members, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding patient safety.
  • Coordinate all care rendered to patients, including physician orders and diagnostic information, and ensure consultations are ordered.
  • Document medical, behavioral health information, and nursing care, administering medications and maintaining records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care, leading on shift for all admissions and discharges, and informing physicians of changes in patients' conditions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Three or more years of experience in nursing practice required, with one or more years of experience in med/surg nursing and behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Current RN license as required by state, CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required, and first aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
