Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in supporting physicians to ensure the well-being and safety of our patients throughout their care journey at GenesisCare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany the physician in the examination room, remaining present unless instructed otherwise.
- Assist the physician during initial consultations, routine follow-ups, and emergency visits as required.
- Manage scheduling and follow-up for all diagnostic tests, ensuring proper documentation and physician signatures on results.
- Communicate interim report results to the physician and document findings accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of patient progress on status check sheets and share relevant notes with the front desk and physician.
- Perform blood draws for laboratory tests and follow up on results, including obtaining necessary signatures.
- Participate in annual safety training and apply safety protocols in clinical settings.
- Document current medications and any new prescriptions provided by our physicians, including dosage and instructions.
- Track vital signs and initial weight, along with all subsequent follow-up weights.
- Ensure all necessary permissions are obtained for specific procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of allergy documentation.
- Assist with patient catheterization for simulations and imaging studies as needed.
- Report any patient concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Support the physician during surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Foster open communication with front desk staff, physicians, and nursing teams regarding patient management.
- Maintain required licenses and certifications.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in radiation oncology is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and reliability.
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
