Role Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to youth and adults within our outpatient clinical services programs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to youth and adults receiving services in the outpatient clinical services programs.
  2. Review and sign client treatment plans as needed to ensure effective care coordination.
  3. Offer consultation to agency staff regarding client treatment to enhance collaborative practice.
  4. Complete progress notes for client services following Current Procedural Terminology guidelines.
  5. Communicate essential information necessary for the proper dispensing of medication at home and when needed at school.
  6. Collaborate with parents and child's therapist to address any medication, behavioral, or primary health concerns.
  7. Document any concerns in the child's chart and monitor based on clinical judgment.
  8. Participate in program committees as necessary to contribute to the agency's mission and values.
  9. Review all Laboratory test results and discuss any concerns with the nurse.
  10. Work collaboratively with mental health therapists regarding behavioral health concerns and outcomes.
  11. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  12. Show respect and courtesy in all interactions and communication internal or external to the Agency.
  13. Demonstrate interest, knowledge, and support for the Agency's mission, values, and philosophy.
  14. Possess problem-solving and conflict resolution skills in both organizational and interpersonal matters.
  15. Support and communicate with supervisor and coworkers in a cooperative manner.
  16. Incorporate the Agency's mission, values, and philosophy in decisions, behaviors, and actions.
  17. Demonstrate initiative and serve as a role model within the program.
  18. Model and practice sensitivity, fair treatment, and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner from a recognized accredited school.
  • Current NYS registration as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Two years' experience with children and families required.
  • Two years' experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000-$165,000 per year, based on a 35-hour workweek.
