Waste Management Specialist

Job Overview

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating our trucks in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a positive company image in the minds of our customers and other drivers. You will be matched up with another team member each day and travel to different areas of our local territory to visit customers' homes and properties to take away their unwanted items.

We are committed to being environmentally friendly by recycling, donating, and other options for keeping as much out of landfills as possible. You will be responsible for executing the daily production of work following our company's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate our trucks in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining a positive company image.
  2. Visit customers' homes and properties to take away their unwanted items.
  3. Dispose of items responsibly through recycling, donating, and waste management facilities.
  4. Review job schedule with other assigned team member for the day.
  5. Perform truck inspection with team member at start of the day.
  6. Ensure all needed materials are available.
  7. Adhere to all safety guidelines while driving.
  8. Treat everyone you come in contact with, with professionalism.
  9. Visit customers' homes and properties to review jobs, confirm or provide an estimate to do the work and share the value of our services.
  10. Perform jobs following the REAPP method, providing customers with a fair, honest price.
  11. Complete all physical labor associated with the jobs in a timely, safe manner to keep the schedule on track.
  12. Complete all jobs on-time, every time.
  13. Visit recycling centers and donation partners to offload any items that can be saved from landfills.
  14. Offload any other materials and dumps/transfer stations.
  15. Constant communications with Dispatch or Operations Management to confirm jobs and timelines throughout the day and pivot according to any changes or new jobs booked for the day.
  16. Utilize the company-provided app to input data throughout the day for tracking and quality assurance.
  17. Ensure all paperwork is completed and handed-in at the end of the day.
Requirements

No minimum education requirement.

Prior experience in any of the following is an asset, but not required:

  • General Labor, Moving, Construction, Warehouse
  • Delivery Driver, Driver
