MD Anderson Cancer Center - Anesthesiology Department

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesiology department at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional anesthesia care to our patients undergoing various surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the appropriateness of pre-anesthesia examinations and assessments.
  • Develop and implement plans of care based on patient assessments and anticipated procedures.
  • Administer anesthetic agents and adjunctive therapeutics, monitoring physiological responses and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Provide resuscitative care and record pertinent information on patient records.
  • Terminate anesthesia and provide post-anesthesia care.
Requirements:
  • Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN) issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current State of Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license recognizing the certification for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse CRNA (APRN-CRNA), issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Certification or recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) issued by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
