Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the buying process for goods and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. This includes applying sourcing policy, interfacing between suppliers and the organization with respect to specifications and budgets, and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure the smooth flow of materials and goods into the organization
- Apply sourcing policy and interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets
- Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and delivery requirements
- Identify new suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
- Track, analyze and evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, company guidelines, and policies related to purchasing and supply chain management
- Deliver briefs, updates, and reports to management and project teams as and when required
- Develop ideas and strategies to add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Responsible for material control and management including chain of custody and appropriate documentation
- Manage supplier schedules and ensure changes are reflected within the ERP systems
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in supply chain management or a related role
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities, while meeting deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
