Position Overview:

The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in managing medical and surgical supplies as well as overseeing 2-Bin Kanban project supply chain systems. This position entails precise counting, stocking, and auditing of consumable medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceuticals, surgical implants, instruments, and various hospital assets. Additionally, the role may involve the installation and maintenance of 2-Bin Kanban project supply chain lines, including the assembly and adjustment of inventory storage racks. This is a temporary role that necessitates travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage diverse thoughts and ideas that foster innovation in projects and collaborative efforts across teams.
  • Accurately record inventory count data in the HITS program, utilizing Excel or paper count sheets as directed by the Team Leader or Inventory Management.
  • Conduct inventory counts to ensure all items are accounted for and reported in accordance with established policies.
  • Report any discrepancies in inventory to the Team Leader.
  • Maintain proficiency in utilizing technology for inventory data capture, including the HITS application.
  • Communicate regularly with the Team Leader regarding any issues with the HITS program or computer equipment.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and adjust inventory storage racks, carts, and shelving for supplies.
  • Install carts at each par location.
  • Organize and stock inventory shelving as instructed by supervisors and hospital staff.
  • Read and interpret data for supplies, including descriptions, item numbers, par levels, and units of measurement.
  • Pick and label supplies for each par location with temporary labels.
  • Stage supplies on carts with appropriate bin sizes and labels.
  • Label bins and carts accurately.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols outlined in job orientation and training.
  • Adhere to company policies, guidelines, and standards in customer service, equipment utilization, and internet usage.
  • Attend staff and training meetings for ongoing updates related to Field Operations.
  • Collaborate daily with various teams while working on projects.
  • Perform all duties in a timely and effective manner, adhering to established company policies to achieve overall objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet required standards to work within a hospital environment, including background checks, drug tests, and medical vaccinations.
  • Possession of a State Issued Driver's License and a clean driving record is preferred, along with reliable transportation and the ability to travel extensively.
  • Must have a mobile phone to utilize company applications for timekeeping purposes.
  • Ability to use inventory management software to update counts and compile reports.
  • Professional appearance is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of various teams.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary English language.
  • This position requires frequent travel across the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical and/or pharmaceutical products.
  • One year of experience in inventory counting or supply chain management is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extensive travel to hospitals across the United States.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Walking for prolonged periods.
  • Stooping, bending, and reaching to count products and handle equipment.
  • Performing repetitive motion activities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The compensation for the Clinical Inventory Specialist can vary based on qualifications, skills, and competencies. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
