Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for:
- Evaluating patients for respiratory issues and formulating care plans tailored to their diagnoses.
- Implementing and overseeing the patient care plan and associated equipment.
- Monitoring, documenting, and communicating changes in patient conditions.
- Administering advanced respiratory therapies.
- Assessing treatment effectiveness and making necessary adjustments based on patient outcomes.
- Educating patients and their families about respiratory health and available community resources.
- Participating in emergency response situations as needed.
Required Licensure / Certification:
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer is mandatory. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Credentialing as a Respiratory Therapist from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care is required prior to employment.
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
There are no additional preferences for this position.
