We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Lead Receptionist to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing patient schedules, and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office.
Key Responsibilities- Greets patients and family members, instructs, directs, and schedules appointments to meet their needs.
- Assists patients with selecting a primary care clinician, emphasizing the importance of continuity.
- Accurately handles prescription requests, medical chart information, and schedules referrals with other physician offices.
- Coordinates with care team members to provide exceptional patient service.
- Answers the telephone and directs calls to the appropriate party.
- Collects co-payments and deductibles at the time of service and accurately posts CPT and ICD-9 codes and their associated charges and payments in the computer.
- Trains and oversees additional receptionists in the practice.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Strong patient-centered focus and ability to work as part of a clinical team.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly, key in documents accurately, and balance charges and payments to end of day reports.
- Typing speed of 35 wpm.
This position requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, or stretching to reach files or supplies. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent reaching with hands/arms. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Minimal risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases, and/or other conditions common to a physician practice environment.
