Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Information Technician to join our team at Resource Logistics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and organize medical reports, charts, and other health information documents
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of medical records, including signatures and reports
  • Prepare and type health information forms, such as charts for new admissions and requests for specific reports or certificates
  • Compile and type statistical reports, including daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, and length of stay
  • File reports into health information records, record information in logs, and retrieve health information records in the filing system
  • Provide information from health information records after determining the appropriateness of the request
  • Coordinate with other clients concerning health information records procedures
Requirements
  • Knowledge of health information technology, JCAH and Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing medical record keeping, and requirements governing confidentiality of patient information
  • Skills in the use of typewriters and/or word processors and calculators
  • Ability to deal with problems involving few variables within a familiar context, write routine business letters, evaluations, or records following standard procedures, proofread medical reports, and recognize errors
Education and Experience
  • 3 courses or 9 months of experience in records management
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in medical terminology
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in typing

Please note that the equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment may also be considered.
