This position is a key member of our maintenance team at Daybreak Foods, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our egg production and processing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing minor to major equipment repairs during non-production and production times of the day.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts to conduct repairs
- Maintain food processing equipment, including performing preventative maintenance tasks such as inspecting motors, bearings, belts, fluid levels, and replacing filters
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical wiring, installation of new equipment and parts
- Document all maintenance performed, including preventative maintenance, and identify any required parts needed
- Notify facility supervisors of maintenance or repairs to be undertaken in any food handling area
- Remove all tools and debris from any maintenance activity once completed, and notify appropriate personnel of completion
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Maintenance certification or equivalent experience
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Previous experience in maintenance required, with experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety programs and processes, such as Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, etc.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
