Role Summary and Responsibilities
The Telemetry Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all operational functions within the unit during assigned shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the supervisor directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing practices in line with established protocols, serving as a resource for staff while embodying the organization's mission and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
- Engages in continuous assessment of care quality within the unit, collaborating with management.
- Works with experts and managers to cultivate a teamwork-oriented environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
- Champions a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
- Supports facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including staff rounding and other initiatives.
- Participates in the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, and compliance with personnel policies.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Oversees inventory management and assists with supply and equipment oversight.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Current TX RN license or compact license.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute hospital experience.
- At least 1 year of RN leadership experience.
