Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled Manufacturing Manager to oversee our second shift operations at our facility in Reno, Nevada. This shift commences in the afternoon, and relocation assistance is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all production activities during the assigned shift.
- Support and guide teams in inventory management, quality control, ERP system utilization, and procurement.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, peers, and management.
- Manage personnel to ensure consistent performance and reliable outcomes.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement enhancements.
- Collaborate with various departments to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Purchasing, Accounting, Training, and Human Resources.
- Actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing Food Safety.
- Review the daily production schedule to optimize labor utilization.
- Manage departmental budgets and labor costs.
- Ensure products are packaged and labeled correctly.
- Minimize product waste and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor production line efficiency to maximize product safety and yield.
- Ensure work orders are fulfilled according to quality and scheduling standards.
- Regularly inspect production areas for required sanitation standards.
- Audit employee time records to ensure accurate attendance tracking.
- Plan and schedule the next day's production activities with team members.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff regarding food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or a related field, with a minimum of six years of leadership experience in food manufacturing. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Familiarity with SQF, AIB, GFSI, and USDA environments is preferred.
- Availability to work a first shift schedule with flexibility to accommodate business needs.
- Ability to work in a chilled production setting.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills are essential.
- Proven ability to coach and motivate a team effectively.
- Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Charts, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
