Position Overview:

The Senior Software Engineer will engage with a Balanced Product Team, collaborating closely with the Product Manager, Product Designer, and fellow Software Engineers to deliver innovative analytic solutions.

This role entails the development and ongoing support of analytical solutions, working within small, multi-functional teams. The position will maintain continuous interaction with business partners, Software Engineers, Technical Anchors, and designers, emphasizing frequent releases.


Product and Requirements Management:

Contribute to and/or spearhead the creation of requirements, features, user stories, use cases, and test cases. Participate actively in stand-up operations meetings.


Documentation and Development:

Author process and design documents while engaging in design, development, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with Business Customers, Product Owners, Architects, Product Designers, Software Engineers, and Security Controls Champions on solution design and implementation.


Operational Responsibilities:

Generate metrics, manage user access authorization, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.


Incident and Change Management:

Lead and participate in activities related to incidents, problems, changes, and service requests, including root cause analysis (RCA) and proactive problem management.


Required Skills:

Engage in Test-first Development and Test Driven Development (TDD). Candidates should possess 5-6+ years of experience with:

  • Object-oriented programming languages, including but not limited to: Python (Flask), Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript (AngularJS, Karma)
  • Modern databases (both relational and non-relational) such as SQL Server, Teradata, and Big Data technologies.

Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools and pipelines, including Jenkins, Terraform, SonarQube, Gradle, and GitHub is essential. Candidates should also have 3-4+ years of experience developing and deploying on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure, along with proficiency in Spring/SpringBoot and RESTful web services development.


Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with eXtreme Programming (XP) practices, including Pair/Mob programming and Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD). Experience with cloud platforms and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and machine learning is advantageous. Knowledge of Agile tools like CA Agile Central (Rally) is a plus.


Education:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
