Position Overview:
This role is designated for the Air Force District of Washington and is a flexible position without benefits. Key Responsibilities: As instructed, gathers linens, glassware, and utensils based on the specific service style (menu, food, and drinks).
Prepares table settings for meals and beverages, ensuring that all dishes, glasses, and utensils are clean, linens are immaculate, and condiment containers are adequately stocked.
Following detailed instructions and strict timelines, retrieves food from the kitchen and serves beverages from the bar to customers. Replenishes food and drink supplies and performs necessary cleanup tasks. Responds to basic inquiries regarding menu items and food offerings. Cleans and resets tables for subsequent use. Undertakes additional cleaning duties as time allows, including maintaining the preparation area, kitchen, and dining space.May also assist with incidental dishwashing and other related tasks. Required Experience:
No prior experience or training is necessary. Candidates must be able to follow simple verbal instructions and prepare checks for customers. Must be physically capable of standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. Must frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds. Must meet the minimum age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages. Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler training. Must effectively communicate with customers and demonstrate skills in public interaction. Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Evaluation will be based on competency in the following areas:
Education Some federal positions allow for education to substitute for required experience; this position does not permit such substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education obtained from foreign institutions may be considered to meet requirements.
Proof of equivalency to U.S. education standards must be provided when applying.
Applicants must fully meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is mandatory. Successful completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check is required. A probationary period may be necessary. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to starting the position.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
