Position Summary: The selected candidate will collaborate closely with clients to tackle intricate scientific challenges across various domains, including physics, chemistry, and earth sciences. The ability to conduct independent research and devise effective solutions to scientific inquiries will be crucial in the selection process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and interpret scientific algorithms and computational models.
- Investigate physical forces, structures, and phenomena.
- Analyze experimental outcomes and conduct quality assurance assessments.
- Develop and evaluate models based on research findings.
- Perform data analysis and interpretation.
- Create and enhance modeling tools utilizing prevalent programming languages.
- Generate comprehensive reports.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Possession of an active secret clearance or higher, with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- A Master’s degree in physical sciences with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with a documented research background in the relevant field.
- Specialization in a physics-related discipline such as astrophysics, nuclear physics, electromagnetic theory, or hydrodynamics.
- Proficiency in developing tools using common programming languages.
- Strong understanding of engineering science and technology.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong writing skills, with a requirement to produce detailed reports.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Successful completion of background and drug screening checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD).
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) relevant to GPU, Parallel, or Tensor design.
- Familiarity with astrophysics, nuclear physics, electromagnetic theory, and hydrodynamics.
- Expertise in Finite Volume and/or Finite Difference Time Domain methods.
