Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and interpret scientific algorithms and computational models.
  • Investigate physical forces, structures, and phenomena.
  • Analyze experimental outcomes and conduct quality assurance assessments.
  • Develop and evaluate models based on research findings.
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation.
  • Create and enhance modeling tools utilizing prevalent programming languages.
  • Generate comprehensive reports.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Possession of an active secret clearance or higher, with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • A Master’s degree in physical sciences with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with a documented research background in the relevant field.
  • Specialization in a physics-related discipline such as astrophysics, nuclear physics, electromagnetic theory, or hydrodynamics.
  • Proficiency in developing tools using common programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of engineering science and technology.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong writing skills, with a requirement to produce detailed reports.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD).
  • Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) relevant to GPU, Parallel, or Tensor design.
  • Familiarity with astrophysics, nuclear physics, electromagnetic theory, and hydrodynamics.
  • Expertise in Finite Volume and/or Finite Difference Time Domain methods.
