Aircraft Maintenance Technician Job Description

Straight Flight, a subsidiary of Sierra Nevada Corporation, is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing all types of aircraft maintenance on both piston and jet aircraft in the general aviation arena.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on aircraft airframes and engines
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of aircraft systems
  • Inspect and maintain aircraft components and systems
  • Collaborate with other technicians to complete maintenance tasks
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and FAA regulations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Active FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Proficiency in repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics and diagrams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) rating
  • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney PT-6A engines
  • Experience with computerized maintenance manuals

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $35-$45 per hour
  • 4-day work week (minimum 40 hours per week)
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Company-sponsored health benefits after 30 days
  • 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) available after 30 days
