Staff Scheduling Associate Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Staff Scheduling Associate to join our team of caregivers. As a member of our Centralized Staffing Operation team, you will play a critical role in providing customer service and support to caregivers in our nursing units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct customer service and provide support to caregivers in Cleveland Clinic's nursing units.
  • Review staffing and scheduling adjustments, including nurse-to-patient ratios, every 4 hours.
  • Communicate with assigned areas through computer and/or telephone.
  • Generate and review 24-hour staffing projections.
  • Seek coverage for shifts and special circumstances.
  • Utilize scripted responses when appropriate.
  • Recognize the need for escalation of staffing challenges.
  • Conduct the Lack of Work process according to Standard Operating Procedure when necessary.
  • Resolve complex problems with minimal leadership guidance.
  • Utilize staffing and scheduling knowledge to identify and resolve complex staffing issues that directly affect patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with nurse leadership to review current and anticipated staffing needs.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing institute timekeeping to ensure proper coding of caregiver's time.
  • Provide customer support to internal and external caregivers.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of PRN staff and agency staff to maintain operations for the assigned units.
  • Complete appropriate documentation utilizing Kronos for caregiver schedule changes.
  • Be the point of contact for unit call offs.
  • Accurately record, document, and report call offs according to SOP.
  • Compile ad hoc and scheduled reports for Chief Nursing Offers, Nursing Directors, and Nurse Managers.
  • Attend and successfully complete required training.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • An associate's degree may substitute for up to one year of the stated experience.
  • A bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two years of stated experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and database software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of staffing/scheduling experience.
Physical Requirements:

Requires manual dexterity for constant data entry and ability to sit for long periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Compensation:

Minimum hourly: $16.47

Maximum hourly: $23.61

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary.

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.

This is not inclusive of the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package, which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement.
