Patient Access Representative Job Summary
At AHMC Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patient information.
Responsibilities:
* Accurately input demographic and insurance information for patients admitted to the Hospital, Emergency Department, and Outpatient Departments
* Communicate with multiple departments, including outside physician offices, to collect deposits, co-pays, and balances
* Notify Financial Advocates of self-pay or uninsured patients
* Record information into computer systems, scan required documents, and pre-register patients as scheduled
* Enter orders for specific ancillary or admissions as rendered
Requirements:
* 1 year experience in a hospital or medical office/clinic or business office, previous Admitting experience preferred
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Ability to type with accuracy
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
* Bilingual preferred
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
