Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. This full-time or part-time position offers a competitive salary of $32.25 per hour, based on experience and education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work at our Rush-Scottsville Road home in Rush and may also be required to assist at our East River Road home in West Henrietta.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Health Status Monitoring: Physically examine and determine health status for all residents on a regular basis and as needed, ensuring accurate documentation practices utilizing PrecisionCare software.
  • Infection Control: Monitor control of communicable diseases and infections, maintaining a safe environment for our residents.
  • Medical Services Coordination: Coordinate all medical/health related services, including medical appointments, and maintain effective communication with healthcare providers.
  • Order Review and Recording: Review and record monthly doctors' orders and MAR sheets, including controlled drug sheets and key transfer.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medically prescribed medications to residents, follow up on medication errors, and maintain a well-stocked medical cabinet.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain ongoing and effective communication with nursing staff at each resident's school/day program, providing necessary records and medications.
  • Procedural Implementation: Ensure that all medical, health, and safety procedures are implemented as written.
  • Staff Health Testing: Monitor and maintain accurate data on staff required health testing mandated by the Department of Health.
  • Resident Care and Support: Assist with hospitalization discharges, provide teaching on medication administration, and oversee AMAPs and DSP II Medical Liaison responsibilities.
  • Certifications and Training: Maintain CPR and First Aid Instructor certification, participate in Residential Safety Committee and Interdisciplinary Team meetings, and adhere to a rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements

  • Nursing Education: Associate's degree from a two-year college or university in Nursing, Certified by NYS as a Registered Nurse.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Driver's License: Possess a current and valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Lifting Requirements: Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
