Key Responsibilities

As a Vacuum Truck Operator at Atakapa Services, you will be integral to our operations, responsible for the safe and efficient management of vacuum trucks for the removal of various materials. Your primary duties will include:

  1. Vacuum Truck Operation:
    • Skillfully operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials.
    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during equipment operation.
  2. Maintenance and Inspection:
    • Perform routine maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and resolve any issues promptly.
  3. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Maintain thorough records and documentation related to each job and material disposal.
  4. Team Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and clients to effectively coordinate job tasks.
    • Promptly communicate any concerns or issues regarding equipment or job site conditions.
  5. Emergency Response:
    • Participate as a member of the emergency response team in the event of spills or accidents, following established protocols.
    • Assist in disaster response efforts, including those related to hurricanes.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
  • Demonstrated experience operating vacuum trucks or similar machinery.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina are essential.
