About the Position

Clemson University is seeking a distinguished academic to fill the Glenn '65 and Heather Hilliard Endowed Professorship in Sustainable Forestry and Land Conservation. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation, College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in forest resource policy, economics, and management.
  • Develop and lead an externally funded, interdisciplinary research program on sustainable forest management, forested watersheds, urban forests, and greenspaces.
  • Participate in department, college, and university activities, including mentoring students and new faculty, and working with state, federal, and private stakeholders.
  • Manage the Glenn '65 and Heather Hilliard Endowment to support research and travel.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a natural resources field, with preference given to candidates with at least one degree in Forestry from a SAF-accredited institution.
  • Record of scholarly activity appropriate for a tenured appointment in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation at the rank of associate or full professor.
  • Demonstrate teaching excellence, research excellence, and a commitment to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
