Chamberlain University is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty to teach in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring students in a pediatric clinical setting, providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students, and implementing the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
- May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
- Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
- Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
- Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
- A Master's in Nursing (MSN), or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered California nursing license.
- BLS Certification is required.
- At least two years professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
