Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty member to develop or continue a vigorous research program in Materials Chemistry. We are particularly encouraged in the area of Inorganic Materials Chemistry.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop or continue a vigorous research program in Materials Chemistry.
  • Pursue opportunities for collaboration with other researchers within the Department of Chemistry and across the University.

A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related field with relevant postdoctoral experience is required. We are seeking talented applicants qualified for Assistant Professor positions. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks will receive consideration.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant, collaborative, and interdisciplinary materials science and engineering community at UMass Amherst and will also be a member of the recently initiated interdisciplinary materials science and engineering graduate program (MSE IDGP).

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated at around $120,000 per year. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
