Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced GM Service Technician to join our team at Gulf Coast Family of Dealerships. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing client and dealership vehicles while maintaining a positive relationship with clients who return due to unsatisfactory work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify areas of repair
  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor to ensure accurate and efficient service
  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman to ensure efficient and effective service
  • Provide labor time estimates to service advisor to ensure accurate billing and scheduling
  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure high-quality service
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate and transparent service
  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees to ensure knowledge and skills are transferred to the next generation of technicians
  • Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments and best practices
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure knowledge of the latest technical information and updates
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • ASE and/or GM Certifications
  • 12+ months' related experience and/or training
  • Operator Driver's License & State Inspection License
