About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Schedule follow-up appointments in our practice management system, adhering to provider orders and office protocols in a high-volume clinic setting.
  • Cancel or reschedule appointments as needed, notifying relevant clinic personnel and communicating with patients.
  • Arrange for patients to receive financial counseling as required.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures to optimize front office efficiency.
  • Cover for other front office functions as requested and may schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request.
  • Obtain necessary authorization and pre-certification as required.
  • Communicate with patients regarding scheduled tests and potential prep work, gathering necessary information and relaying messages in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in a front medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in a practice management system, including insurance forms and appointment scheduling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with medical professionals as part of the care team.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and prioritization.
  • Electronic Medical Record and/or Practice Software proficiency.
  • Ability to adapt to daily work challenges and adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Work history reflecting quality delivery of service.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
