Job Summary:

U-Haul is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating a press brake to bend sheet metal in accordance with design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study blueprints and specification sheets to understand technical requirements
  • Set a computer-controlled press brake to project specifications
  • Ensure proper positioning and alignment of metal inside the press brake
  • Monitor the pressing process and measure the finished sheet metal to ensure it meets specifications
  • Troubleshoot and address problems that arise during the pressing process
  • Perform routine maintenance on the press brake
  • Comply with all health and safety standards in the manufacturing facility

Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of press brake operation and sheet metal fabrication
  • Computer skills to operate CNC software
  • Ability to remain upright and perform repetitive movements throughout most of a work shift
  • Arithmetic skills to perform measurements and calculate settings
  • Ability to move heavy or large pieces of sheet metal
  • Observation skills to monitor the pressing process and inspect metal after pressing
  • Familiarity with blueprints and technical specification sheets
