Job Summary:
This role is field-based and involves daily travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities:


Operate a range of machinery including backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, plows, trenchers, and directional bore machines for the installation or upkeep of underground utilities, along with other tasks as assigned by the foreman.

Operators are expected to uphold MasTec's safety culture, which includes the safe operation of machinery, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and participation in daily and weekly safety discussions.

Operators will be guided in the placement or maintenance of underground utilities.


This may involve, but is not limited to, excavating around existing utilities, installing conduits, setting handholes, placing manholes, and backfilling & compacting.

Operators will also be responsible for the daily upkeep of machinery, including maintaining fluid levels, greasing equipment as necessary, and performing other routine maintenance tasks.

Operators must be knowledgeable about OSHA Regulations concerning trench safety.

Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of experience in construction, excavation, and related heavy equipment operation is preferred.
A valid motor vehicle operator license is required, with a CDL A license preferred.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
