Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Facilities Building HVAC Systems Technician to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and comfortable environment for our staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • HVAC System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including cleaning condensers and coils, inspecting fan motors and belts, and replacing filters.
  • System Repair and Replacement: Diagnose and repair or replace HVAC fixtures, including commercial air handlers, chillers, boilers, and exchangers.
  • System Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test HVAC systems, including thermostats, temperature controls, and building automation systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including calibration, cleaning, and inspection of controls, dampers, and belts.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in building systems operations, commercial/industrial building maintenance, with 2 years working on large-scale HVAC systems.
  • Certifications: Obtain EPA Section 608 Technician Certification-Universal and valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card during the probationary period.
Working Conditions

This is a regular full-time position with a scheduled 40-hour workweek. The shift is third shift, and the location is Doan Hall (0089). The successful candidate will be required to work overtime and be subject to 24-hour emergency call.
