Position Overview
The Head of Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering is responsible for the design, assessment, implementation oversight, and validation of security systems within the CIRCOR IT framework. This role entails evaluating the current security posture, which includes security solutions, measures, policies, and standards, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding effectively to potential security threats and breaches. Furthermore, this position is expected to provide expert advice on security matters, guiding a wide array of security concepts and best practices, and may serve in a leadership capacity to approve or deny modifications to client environments as necessary. Staying informed about current and emerging security trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate concerns and provide guidance to clients and internal teams promptly and effectively.
- Design and/or review secure architectural frameworks for CIRCOR, based on specific requirements, security best practices, and operational needs, applicable across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
- Deliver the following services as a security architect:
- Offer advisory and guidance on security architecture.
- Evaluate project requirements concerning security standards and provide architectural recommendations.
- Identify security risks associated with proposed changes and recommend compensating controls where necessary.
- Spot gaps in existing security capabilities to align with best practices.
- Develop low-level and high-level architectural designs.
- Create reference and solution architectures.
- Facilitate the collection of business requirements related to security.
- Contribute to strategic planning and road mapping initiatives for security architecture.
- Review the current environment, focusing on administrative, technical, and physical controls based on industry standards and risk tolerances.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to select security tools and solutions, as well as architect their implementation.
- Conduct assessments of tools and environments based on industry best practices and standards.
Candidate Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Over 10 years of experience in Technology and Cybersecurity.
- At least 5 years of experience in security architecture.
- Extensive experience in either infrastructure security or application security as a primary focus.
- Familiarity with security best practice frameworks and controls, including NIST.
- Experience with architectural methodologies and frameworks.
- Understanding of current and evolving security compliance requirements.
- Ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals from various backgrounds and experience levels.
- Strong teaching, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional documentation skills, including the ability to create Architectural High-Level and Low-Level diagrams, Network diagrams, Data-flow diagrams, and Security Policy and Standards documentation.
