Job Description: As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electronic problems, and interacting with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
Required Skills and Qualifications: A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A is preferred. Three (3) years or more relevant work experience is preferred. Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines are necessary.
Responsibilities: Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs, replaces defective components as instructed, works unsupervised on most tasks, interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaint, utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available, and acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
Additional Requirements: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment. Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc., is necessary. Passes a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
