Job Overview

POSITION: The Empowerment Center Facilitator is tasked with ensuring the safe and supportive operation of the designated Drop-In Center. This role focuses on fostering empowerment and leadership skills among individuals experiencing mental health challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidates are individuals who have actively engaged in their own recovery journey and have taken on leadership roles within the mental health community. Participation in local planning meetings, advisory boards, or regional support programs is essential. Candidates must exemplify a commitment to their recovery and serve as positive role models for peers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate weekly member meetings to gather feedback and suggestions for program improvement.
  2. Manage the opening and closing of the Drop-In Center, ensuring the facility is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
  3. Attend monthly regional meetings to collaborate with community support programs.
  4. Organize activities for the monthly calendar, coordinating logistics such as tickets and transportation with other centers.
  5. Meet regularly with the program coordinator to address operational issues and paperwork.
  6. Submit completed attendance records to the appropriate personnel on a weekly basis.
  7. In the event of emergencies or incidents, promptly notify the necessary personnel and complete incident reports.
  8. Promote respectful interactions among members and enforce behavioral guidelines consistently.
  9. Participate in all required training and in-service programs.
  10. Conduct intake processes and provide orientation for new participants.
  11. Adhere to all policies and procedures, with violations subject to disciplinary action.
  12. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  13. Monitor daily attendance to ensure accurate sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  14. Compile a list of supplies needed for the center and submit it to the coordinator monthly.
  15. Physical requirements include the ability to see, hear, speak, read, grasp, reach, walk, sit, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  16. Practice Cultural Humility in all interactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the policies of the Community Counseling Center at all times.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
