Job Title: Composite Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Composite Mechanic to join our team at Iowa Interstate Railroad. As a Composite Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing rolling stock and company equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and maintain rolling stock and company equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of locomotive components, including electrical and electronic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot locomotive component malfunctions.
  • Assemble and install new components, including diesel engines, air compressors, radiators, and trucks.
  • Conduct regular inspections and complete maintenance reports.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months.
  • Prior experience in transportation or train operations preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
Working Conditions:

The Composite Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to weather conditions, water, oil, grease, and other hazardous materials. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
