The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is in search of a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our esteemed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

  • The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team comprises Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who deliver comprehensive care for pediatric patients requiring critical interventions, including those recovering from complex surgeries.
  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) plays a vital role in diagnosing and managing patient care in collaboration with our physician team.
  • Continuity of care is ensured through effective communication and coordination among the healthcare team, patients, and their families.
  • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) integrates relevant research and evidence-based practices into patient care.

Qualifications

  • A Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Must be registered and licensed with the Maryland Board of Nursing, holding certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the relevant specialty. A minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience is required.
  • Physician Assistant candidates must have completed an accredited PA program and obtained a Maryland PA license.
  • CRNP Pediatric Acute Care certification is mandatory.
