Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Nuclear Imaging services. This includes ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, as well as being available for emergency on-call procedures as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognize the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and help to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible.
  • Supervise the application of radionuclides, maintaining standards of quality.
  • Direct nuclear medicine personnel regarding work and assure enforcement of safety regulations in the nuclear medicine department.
  • Evaluate competency of nuclear medicine personnel and maintain and formulate department policies.
  • Assure safe storage of radioactive materials and maintain appropriate records to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Review results of calibration of equipment and select proper equipment to complete requested examinations.
  • Operate Nuclear Medicine computers to enhance documents and add additional study information in notes.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent with satisfactory completion of a formal Nuclear School of Medicine or equivalent.
  • Registered technologist within the Nuclear Medicine Field.
  • Experience and capabilities as determined to be adequate by the Director and Medical Director of Radiology.
