Job Summary

Terracon is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting industrial hygiene exposure assessments, site safety audits, and environmental site investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessments: Perform industrial hygiene exposure assessments to determine the level of airborne and surface contaminants, noise, and other occupational stressors that workers are exposed to, and subsequently compare the findings to established occupational exposure limits.
  • Site Safety Audits: Conduct site safety audits to determine compliance with established regulations and policies.
  • Environmental Site Investigations: Conduct environmental site investigations and exposure assessments and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, building, and other materials, and soil.
  • Risk and Remediation Strategies: Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Technical Document Preparation: Prepare applicable technical documents, including proposals, reports, regulatory agency correspondence, permit applications, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year related experience or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years' related experience.
  • Certifications: Certification in field of expertise, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response 40 hour initial training, and Asbestos Building Inspector Training and Certification.
