Lead Software Engineer

Hamilton Porter is a boutique technical recruitment firm that partners with growth-stage start-ups to find and hire top talent. We're excited to announce our partnership with a well-funded Denver-based SaaS company seeking a full-time Lead Software Engineer. This innovative company is transforming the $11B direct-to-market farm sales market in the US by providing independent farmers and ranchers with cutting-edge tools for effective direct-to-market sales. Their platform ensures fair financial outcomes for farmers by bringing transparency to the food supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own entire feature areas from start to finish, beginning with understanding product design and crafting scalable solutions.
  • Proactively gather feedback from users and leverage metrics to make product adjustments in real-time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and launch new features.
  • Elevate the team through continuous learning, fostering an environment of engineering excellence, and creating leverage via experience, brilliance, and leadership.
  • Ensure technical solutions are cohesive and support company-wide objectives.
  • Apply deep product development expertise and a strong sense of customer empathy to guide the creation of user-centered solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-impact capabilities that drive value for members and customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Deep experience in startups with demonstrated success building scalable system architectures.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset able to navigate complex technical challenges, ensuring robust, flexible solutions.
  • Extensive full-stack software development experience, across industries, and domains. We are a MERN (React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, GraphQL) stack shop.
  • Agile and Lean startup veteran who can deliver incredible customer-centric product innovations by direct engineering ability, but also by shaping and guiding product roadmaps in the face of ambiguity, volatility, and risk.
  • Bonus points for experience hiring, coaching, and mentoring other engineers or entire engineering teams.
Compensation & Perks:
  • Competitive Annual Base Salary ($150,000 - $180,000 DOE).

This is a hybrid role with a few days per week in the HQ in Denver and the rest work from home.
