About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Medtronic. As a key member of our Surgical Operating Unit, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to system engineering activities associated with our device portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to system engineering activities, including sustaining activities, impact assessments, and requirements evaluation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support system development and maintenance.
  • Own the planning, execution, and documentation of sustaining-supporting systems activities.
  • Investigate internally and externally reported issues to determine root cause and propose process or technical resolution.
  • Lead and contribute to Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) and field Issue Investigation processes.
  • Evaluate functional and performance impact of proposed design changes related to enhancements, cost-down, and component end-of-life issues.
  • Perform customer, system, and subsystem requirement impact assessments, changes, review, and reconciliation.
  • Track and communicate status of deliverables.
  • Work with engineers to develop an understanding of the technological underpinnings of system architecture and detailed design.
  • Employ Model Based Systems Engineering best practices to document and communicate system design changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience developing complex electromechanical medical devices.
  • Strong grasp of design controls and good documentation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to a cross-functional team.
  • Experience in requirements management, risk management, and system architecture documentation.
