Salary

The starting salary for this position is between $57,000 and $89,000, depending on experience, education, and certifications. Our compensation philosophy prioritizes equity, transparency, and clarity, and we believe that our staff deserve competitive pay for their hard work.

Job Description

We are seeking a middle school math educator to join our team at Roxbury Prep. As a member of our grade-level team, you will work closely with colleagues to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Your primary responsibility will be to teach foundational middle school math principles, including ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, and the number system.

Responsibilities
  • Teach math classes to students in grades 5-8, using our in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities.
  • Analyze student work samples and assessments to identify trends and areas for improvement, and work with your principal and/or instructional coach to develop strategies for differentiation.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive school culture.
  • Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model our core values, and encourage student achievement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to our mission and values. Essential qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or other related fields.
  • 1-2 years of experience teaching in urban schools and communities.
