Job Summary

As an Outpatient Scheduling Coordinator at Hardin Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling all outpatient follow-up appointments in a Cancer Center office setting. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the office schedule, greet patients, collect co-payments, and process appointment cancellations and reschedule requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview incoming patients or representatives and enter information required for admission into the computer system.
  • Register patients on the phone and perform insurance verification.
  • Ensure follow-up patients' information is updated in the system and make reminder visit calls.
  • Monitor requests for appointments and call patients to schedule.
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments in the electronic scheduling system.
  • Enter daily charges into the computer and scan documentation into the document management system.
  • Obtain signed statements from patients to protect the hospital's interests.
  • May receive payments on account.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Some business training preferred.
  • Work experience with the public required. Some hospital experience preferred. Patient registration admitting computer system application preferred.

  • May be occasionally subject to irregular work hours.
  • May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
