Job Summary

Unity Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients, under the supervision of a physician.
  • Obtain medical histories and conduct physical examinations and evaluations as appropriate.
  • Order and interpret laboratory/radiology testing, as appropriate.
  • Make diagnoses and prescribe therapeutic measures of care, including prescribing and dispensing medications.
  • Provide teaching for health maintenance and specific health problems and develop/participate in screening programs.
  • Make appropriate referrals to specialists, 24-hour shelters, and hospitals.
  • Recognize and manage common acute and chronic illnesses within your scope of practice.
  • Provide immediate emergency care as needed and make arrangements for transport to appropriate hospital or health service when necessary.
Requirements
  • Must have graduated from an accredited physician assistant program and pass NCCPA exam.
  • Must maintain current DC PA License.
  • Preferably 2-3 years of experience in ambulatory care setting with some contact with homeless patients.
