Pediatric Chemotherapy Registered Nurse 2 Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Chemotherapy Registered Nurse 2 to join our team at the University of Miami/UHealth UMHC/SCCC. As a key member of our pediatric hematology/oncology team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of our research and education programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer research study agents, including Phase I, standard chemotherapy, and biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications to pediatric oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and non-oncology patients.
  • Provide care to patients with multiple disease processes in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, including sedations and procedures in the treatment room.
  • Collaborate with physicians, direct reports, and key staff to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with pediatric patients and their families, providing emotional support and education on treatment options and outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on the latest research and treatment options in pediatric hematology/oncology.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN degree.
  • Current/valid Florida nursing license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.
  • Two (2) years of recent pediatric hematology-oncology nursing experience.
  • Recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course.
  • Association of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course preferred.
  • Oncology, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, or Pediatric Certified Nurse certification preferred.
