Position Summary:
The Army Platform Department is in search of a technically proficient and operationally-focused Project Leader for the PEO Missiles and Space initiative. This role involves delivering innovative, high-impact solutions to critical mission challenges while fostering and enhancing relationships with sponsors. The project emphasizes model-based systems engineering, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and independent assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison to senior sponsors within PEO Missiles and Space.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with senior leadership in PEO MS.
  • Lead dynamic, high-impact projects in systems engineering, concept development, cybersecurity, prototyping, and integration.
  • Manage and guide a diverse MITRE team.
  • Expand MITRE's support in critical areas lacking direct engagement.
  • Facilitate the sponsor's mission through the delivery of impactful technical documents, briefings, reports, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Collaborate externally with PEO MS and stakeholders, including contractors.
  • Work internally with MITRE Project Leads, Department Managers, and Chief Engineers.
  • Provide thought leadership and actionable recommendations in systems engineering, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and cybersecurity strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in Mission Engineering, System of Systems Engineering, and Digital Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts in SysML or UML.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity strategies.
  • Understanding of Integrated Air and Missile Defense missions.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering concise, actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • This position necessitates an onsite presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Army.
  • Knowledge of Army systems and Program Managers, particularly in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and interoperability.
  • Experience in developing Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts in SysML or UML and leading teams in System of Systems Engineering and integration.
  • Familiarity with the AGILE framework.
  • Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
