Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grocery Department Head to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the grocery department to achieve sales and profit goals, while ensuring exceptional customer service and a safe and clean shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the grocery department to achieve sales and profit goals
  • Develop and implement effective sales and merchandising strategies to drive business growth
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and a positive shopping experience
  • Manage and train a team of grocery associates to achieve high levels of performance and productivity
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, manage stockroom operations, and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other store departments to achieve overall store goals and objectives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a grocery store management or leadership role
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profit goals in a retail environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
