Position Overview:
The Customer Support Technicians at Windstream are essential team members who embody our esteemed telecommunications brand, connecting homeowners, small businesses, enterprises, and carrier partners across the nation. By delivering technical expertise and customer assistance, our Customer Support Technicians forge meaningful connections with clients, fostering long-lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain residential and business communication services, including telephone, internet, and video.
- Utilize tools and testing equipment to service various technologies and network configurations.
- Advise customers on products and services that meet their communication requirements.
- Work in both underground and aerial environments, which may involve climbing poles and using ladders.
- Safely operate and keep the company service vehicle organized and clean.
- Engage in both indoor and outdoor work settings.
- Complete necessary safety training and adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Report directly to the Manager of Local Operations.
Qualifications:
- Basic technology and mathematical skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to distinguish colors for color-coded cabling.
- Capability to operate equipment with a maximum load capacity of 275 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.
- Successful completion of required safety training.
- Willingness to work assigned schedules, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability for after-hours callouts.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in customer service or sales.
- Certifications or training relevant to the position.
- A two-year technical degree in computers or electronics, or equivalent work experience.
