Job Summary

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for the oversight of the preparation and compounding of pharmaceuticals, order verification, and dispensing of medications according to laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy within oncology or sterile compounding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize drug therapy by identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems and adverse drug events.
  • Work effectively as a member of a unit team and cross-functional teams both inside and outside of the department.
  • Utilize references and/or drug information sources to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Resolve typically encountered problems within their scope of practice and escalate appropriately when needed.
  • Participate in the training and orientation of newly hired pharmacists and technicians.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • 3 years of hospital pharmacy, ambulatory care, sterile compounding experience or 5 years retail pharmacy experience with 2 years oncology experience required.
  • Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
