About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team at Dechra. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance of our facility and utilities assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reliability and Maintenance: Manage and effectively utilize all resources and relevant information to meet targets through a focused Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program to deliver targeted facility and utilities equipment reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • TPM Program Development: Drive continued development and optimization of the TPM program to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Lead and/or guide facilities and utilities problem solving and troubleshooting to identify root cause, develop timely solutions, participate in execution of work as needed, and communicate outcomes to all interested parties.
  • CMMS Management: Perform and approve actions related to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required.
  • Asset Management: Perform inspections to determine the reparability of existing facilities and utilities equipment, schedule repairs as needed, and develop an asset retirement and replacement strategy.
  • Spare Parts Management: Manage inventory of spare parts required for facilities and utilities equipment maintenance, ensuring spend is controlled within budget and critical spares are readily available.
  • Change Control: Initiate change controls for replacement or modification of equipment and support development of User Requirement Specifications.
  • Engineering Support: Support preparation of Functional Requirements Specification and Functional Design Specification for new equipment.
  • Team Management: Manage facilities resources to prioritize tasks, optimize available resources, and utilize all opportunities to maximize engineering effectiveness.
  • People Management: Managing, motivating, mentoring, and engaging the facilities team to deliver a valued service to their customers, consistently high maintenance standards at the right cost, and promote a "can do" attitude both individually and as a team.
  • Contractor Management: Manage relationships with contractors and third-party service providers.
  • Budgetary Control: Take accountability for budgetary control, optimizing spend in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with site Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, and that tasks are performed in accordance with cGMP, EHS, loss prevention Company processes.
  • Quality Events: Investigate and document quality events related to facilities and/or failures of utilities equipment.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to demonstrate facilities team performance against identified objectives and identify potential challenges.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager who has a strong background in facilities management, maintenance, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and leadership skills.

Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Experience: Higher-level degree in engineering or closely related discipline desirable as is a professional certification in facilities management.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge and application of ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO 9001 standards desirable.
  • Skills: Experience with application of LEAN/six-sigma tools and principles desirable.
  • Language: Proficient/fluent in English. Fully bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
