Boeing is seeking an experienced Avionics Mechanic to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense (BDS) business organization.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize manual hand tools and complex test equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair electrical components.
- Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components, including radio frequency cabling and antenna systems.
- Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
- Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status, and parts requests in a clear and concise manner.
- Perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment and adhering to safety protocols.
- Order parts, tools, and materials as required to perform assigned duties.
- Provide input on technical and operational knowledge to support program objectives.
- Comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, contracts, and facilities.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision and management to support the company and program.
- 3+ years of experience in Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance.
- 4+ years of experience working on various aircraft exterior and interior systems, including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
- 4+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- Operational experience with F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft.
- Ability to operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment.
High school diploma or GED and typically 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
RelocationThis position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
