Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Associate to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a radiology technologist.
  • Assist patients with questions about procedures and prepare them for exams, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner or registered nurse.
  • Assist physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams, including procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
  • Retrieve patient orders and requisitions, supporting administrative and miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Provide ancillary clinical support, including assisting patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals, and other needs as required.
  • Assist with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
  • Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging; medical clerical skills preferred.
Physical Demands

The Radiology Technologist Associate will require moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation may be required. The role may involve stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling in the daily operation of the assigned clinical area.

The individual may be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day, such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, or being near moving equipment. Radiation safety guidelines, MRI safety, and infection control will be essential in preventing exposure to ionizing radiation and maintaining a safe working environment.
