Bakery Order Writer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bakery Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department, including ordering, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Replenish bakery products in a timely and accurate manner to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the bakery team to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to Whole Foods Market's high standards for quality and safety.
  • Assist with visual merchandising and display of bakery products to create an appealing and inviting shopping experience.
  • Participate in inventory management and ordering processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure seamless ordering and delivery processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and trends to provide informed recommendations to customers.

Requirements:

  • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a bakery or food service environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Knowledge of bakery products and ingredients, with a passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting. The ideal candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
